Victor Perez becomes first LIV Golf signing for 2026 after PGA Tour exit

Victor Perez becomes first LIV Golf signing for 2026 after PGA Tour exit

Perez, the Frenchman who claimed the 2019 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the 2022 Dutch Open, and the 2023 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, earned dual membership on both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour thanks to his Race to Dubai ranking in 2023.

At 33, Perez had focused on the PGA Tour over the past two seasons, but his position on the American circuit had become precarious. Heading into the RSM Classic, he was 108th in the FedExCup standings and subsequently withdrew from the final Fall event ahead of his move to LIV Golf.

Cleeks GC hinted at a major signing with a cryptic social media post before confirming that Perez would join their roster for 2026. He will line up alongside former world No. 1 Martin Kaymer, England's Richard Bland, and Poland's Adrian Meronk.

"Joining Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining golf's next great chapter, as this club continues to push boundaries, perform at the highest level, and bring fresh energy and vision to the game," Perez said.

"The sport's growth has been incredible, and LIV Golf's innovation and energy are driving it forward. I'm excited to be part of that momentum and can't wait to get started in Riyadh."

Perez comes in for Frederik Kjettrup, who was relegated after finishing outside the top 48 on the points list.

More new signings are expected before the 2026 LIV Golf League season starts on February 7.

"We're thrilled to welcome Victor as the final piece of our roster," Kaymer said. "We're focused on building not just a stronger team but also contributing to building the next generation of global golf stars. Victor embodies the precision and passion that will help us forge that path."

Perez' compatriot Matthieu Pavon was among those to congratulate him on social media.

"Only love to my friend Victor Perez as he begins his new journey," he wrote.

"Life is made of choices, and I'm sure he has made it for the best: for his family, for himself, and for his team. Will miss our fun moments together on the course."
