Sami Valimaki makes history as first Finn to win on PGA Tour at RSM Classic

Starting the day with a one-shot lead, Valimaki birdied the par-5 15th to pull clear of clubhouse leader Max McGreevy, who had set the target at 22-under with a superb 63. Valimaki closed with steady pars for a 66 and a winning total of 23-under 259.

The win earns him a two-year PGA Tour exemption and lifts him 23 places to No. 51 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings - enough to qualify for the first two signature events of 2026. McGreevy's runner-up finish also appears to secure him the final spot at No. 60.

Ricky Castillo surged into third with a 62 to finish 21-under, though he is projected to end the season just outside the top 100 in points.

Colombia's Nico Echavarria shot 65 to tie for fourth and climb from 62nd to 55th, booking his place in next year's early signature events.
