Marco Penge seals third win of season, Masters spot after Open de Espana drama
Marco Penge beat Dan Brown in a play-off on a dramatic final day of the 2025 Open de Espana.
The World No 2 headlines a strong field for the new event, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).
Joining him in India are Ryder Cup teammates Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, and victorious captain Luke Donald, who became only the second European captain in history, alongside Tony Jacklin, to win back-to-back Ryder Cups.
Former Open champion Brian Harman and two-time PGA Tour winner Ben Griffin - both part of Team USA's Ryder Cup squads - are also in the field. Fellow American Michael Kim, who claimed his breakthrough DP World Tour title in France last month, and former European Ryder Cup stars Nicolas Colsaerts, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Ross Fisher, Andy Sullivan, and Bernd Wiesberger complete the strong lineup.
The event takes place at the Lodhi Course at the historic Delhi Golf Club, hosting a DP World Tour tournament for the first time since the 2016 Hero Indian Open.
The tournament is the penultimate event of the DP World Tour's 'Back 9' schedule. With just two tournaments remaining, players will look to either strengthen their season or secure playing privileges for 2026.
A dramatic play-off victory at the Amgen Irish Open boosted McIlroy's bid for a seventh DP World Tour Order of Merit and a third consecutive title.
McIlroy's lead has been trimmed to 393 points after Marco Penge's win at the Open de España on Sunday, but this week offers an opportunity to widen the gap ahead of next month's DP World Tour Play-Offs.
