McIlroy eyes future goals after Masters win, says Justin Rose 'deserves' another major
Rory McIlroy has backed Justin Rose to claim a long-awaited second major title, after the Englishman suffered yet another near miss at The Masters on Sunday.

It was a Sunday to forget for the 2017 Masters champion. Starting the final round at five over par, the fiery Spaniard wasn't in a great mood and that turned sour after his drive on the first tee went well right.
And that mood went unhinged on the second, when he repeated the performance, calling "right!" as his ball sailed off line. Garcia proceeded to slam the turf into the turf twice, damaging the tee box.
For extra atmosphere, he went off camera and obliterated his Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond on a cooler box, ending the club's life.
The powers that be at Augusta issued a code-of-conduct warning to Garcia - the first ever in the Masters' 90-year history -and did not allow him to replace the club. Garcia would go on to post a 75 and finish eight over for the major, finishing solo 52nd.
"I want to apologise for my actions on Sunday at the Masters tournament," Garcia wrote in a message on Tuesday.
"I respect and value everything that The Masters and Augusta National Golf Club is to Golf. I regret the way I acted and it has no place in our game. It doesn't reflect the respect and appreciation I have for The Masters, the patrons, tournament officials and golf fans around the world."
Somewhat ironically, Garcia's 2017 Masters victory seemed to mark the beginning of his decline. The former world number two has failed to make the top ten in any major since and has just two LIV Golf wins under his belt since that fateful Sunday on the 18th at Augusta.
