Jim Furyk to return as US Ryder Cup captain for Ireland in 2027
Jim Furyk has been confirmed as US Ryder Cup captain for the 2027 contest in Ireland, marking a second stint in charge of the American team.

The pair bring recent Ryder Cup leadership experience to the U.S. setup, with Snedeker noting that their appointments add valuable insight as Team USA targets an 11th consecutive Presidents Cup victory following their 18.5–11.5 win over the International team in the previous edition.
Furyk, who captained the United States to victory at Royal Montreal in 2024 and was recently appointed Ryder Cup captain, joins Bradley, who featured as a player in the last Presidents Cup and served as the losing Ryder Cup captain at Bethpage Black in 2025.
“Both guys have incredible experience as leaders representing the United States and they’ve each earned the respect of players across generations,” Snedeker said.
Snedeker, who won the Myrtle Beach Classic two weeks ago at age 45, still has two assistant captains to appoint ahead of the matches, which take place from September 24–27 at Medinah Country Club.
The United States have dominated the biennial contest since its inception in 1994, losing only once, in 1998, against the International team composed of players from outside Europe.
