Alexis Mac Allister happy with victory over West Ham but demands improvement

The 27-year-old volleyed in the third goal of the match shortly before half-time to assert the home sides dominance and push them to their fourth consecutive win in the Premier League.

"We could have scored more, maybe they had some chances as well," said Mac Allister after the match.

"But today I prefer to be positive and see the fact that we scored five goals, which is really good. We know that we need to improve a couple of things, especially defensively because sometimes the gaps are too big for us, but it is what it is.

"The good thing is that we won. The gap is now smaller with Aston Villa or the teams on top. We are happy with the result, and we need to keep improving."

The result sees the Reds jump over Chelsea into fifth spot on the table, tied on points with fourth placed rivals Manchester United, who have a game in hand.

Mac Allister's goal was his fifth strike of the 2025/26 season, and it follows last weekend's winner against Nottingham Forest.
