All Blacks thrash Wallabies in Sydney to extend Bledisloe Cup dominance

The All Blacks ran in six tries, including five in a one-sided opening half, to take control of the contest and leave the hosts with too much to do after last week's 50-19 defeat at Eden Park.

Josh Moorby opened the scoring in the 12th minute, finishing off a promising attack after Damian McKenzie broke through the Australian defence and Codie Taylor made valuable ground with a powerful carry.

Beauden Barrett added New Zealand's second try three minutes later after Peter Lakai made a strong break through the middle.

Lakai then got on the scoresheet himself in the 21st minute, capping another sustained spell of pressure as New Zealand's slick handling and support play repeatedly stretched the Australian defence.

The Wallabies' afternoon went from bad to worse when Quinn Tupaea's replacement, Rieko Ioane, helped New Zealand extend their lead to 22-0 in the 25th minute.

Australia briefly found a response through lock Jeremy Williams, who crashed over in the 29th minute after Declan Meredith attacked the line and slipped a pass to his forward.

However, any hopes of building momentum were quickly extinguished. Australia's Jeremy Williams was shown a yellow card in the 32nd minute for an offside infringement that stopped a potential try, and New Zealand immediately capitalised on their numerical advantage as Wallace Sititi powered over from close range.

The visitors struck again just before half-time in spectacular fashion when Beauden Barrett intercepted a pass near his own line and raced approximately 80 metres to score. McKenzie converted to send New Zealand into the break with a commanding 36-7 lead.

The All Blacks continued where they left off after the restart, with Moorby grabbing his second try in the 43rd minute.

Australia finally showed greater attacking intent in the second half and were rewarded in the 53rd minute. Max Jorgensen produced a superb weaving run to break through the New Zealand defence before the ball was moved wide for Tom Wright to score in the corner.

The Wallabies added a third try through Filipo Daugunu in the 67th minute after another strong break from Jorgensen helped create the opportunity, but New Zealand's defence held firm in the closing stages as they coasted to a comprehensive win.
