Kaizer Chiefs injury woes continue

In-form midfielder Lebogang Maboe was forced off the field due to injury in the Betway Premiership goalless draw against Golden Arrows at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.

His injury adds to the recent knee injury to captain and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, while attacker Wandile Duba also missed the Arrows clash due to injury.

Amakhosi will hope the international break gives their injured players enough time to recover ahead of a gruelling schedule which includes the CAF Confederation Cup.

Orlando Pirates clean sheets and set-piece improvement

Orlando Pirates recorded their fifth consecutive league match victory without conceding a goal after the 2-0 win over a struggling Marumo Gallants.

Furthermore, Bucs have scored a number of goals from set-pieces recently, with Nkosinathi Sibisi heading in the second goal from a corner against Gallants.

Newly called-up defender Lebone Seema has also contributed with two headers this season, showing a notable improvement in his sides ability to capitalize from dead ball situations.

Another weekend, another Ngwenya winner for AmaZulu

Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya scored his eight goals of the current league campaign in the 1-0 victory over Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

The Zimbabwean striker has scored all eight matches for Usuthu in all competitions and will head into the international break with a three-goal lead on the PSL top goalscorer charts.

Gallants look down and out

Marumo Gallants suffered another defeat in their league clash against defending champions Orlando Pirates, which ensured that they head to the FIFA break bottom of the table and without a win.

The club has made a coaching change with Ronnie Kananelo replacing Phuti Mohafe but the squad seems thin on new talents, relying on players who have been loaned out or joined the club as free agents.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa will need to start collecting points if they want to avoid automatic relegation.
