Betway Premiership newcomers Orbit College to host struggling Stellenbosch

The Mswenko Boys are experiencing the realities of top-flight football in their debut season after securing historic promotion via the PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoffs against Cape Town City and Casric Stars.

Pogiso Makhoye's side sit 13th on the table and have shown flashes of promise, registering notable wins over Magesi FC (3-1) and Polokwane City (1-0).

However, they have also taken some heavy knocks against established opponents, including a 4-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs and a 3-0 setback against Golden Arrows.

Orbit have been active in the market to boost their survival chances. The return of star winger Monnapule Saleng on loan from Orlando Pirates has added flair in attack, while veteran defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele brings invaluable calm at the back. They have further strengthened with Buccaneers loanees Thuso Moleleki and Yanga Madiba.

Stellenbosch, meanwhile, arrive in Rustenburg in unfamiliar territory. Last season's impressive third-place finish feels distant as Steve Barker's men languish in 15th place, uncomfortably close to the drop.

Their domestic struggles have contrasted sharply with their continued participation in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, with fixture congestion clearly taking its toll.

Stellies have endured setbacks such as a 2-0 defeat to TS Galaxy and a 0-2 loss to Kaizer Chiefs, though their dramatic 4-3 win over Golden Arrows showed they can still be dangerous. Their defensive frailties prompted the signing of Belgian centre-back Henri Stanic.
