Chemistry with Handre Pollard will be key for Bulls in URC final, says Willie Le Roux

The Bulls played their way into Friday night's title decider following a dramatic 18-point comeback against Glasgow Warriors in last weekend's semi-final, extending their winning streak to eight matches after finishing the regular season with seven straight victories.

That impressive run has earned the Bulls yet another shot at redemption in the URC Grand Final.

Having lost three previous finals (2022, 2024 and 2025), the Pretoria side will head to Dublin determined to finally claim the silverware that has so far eluded them, and Le Roux stressed that the Bulls will need a complete team effort if they are to go one better this time around.

"We showed great character in the semi-final coming back from 21-3 down," said the Bok veteran. "The guys are very excited to play against a quality outfit in Leinster. We're very excited to be part of the final.

"They've got incredible players in the backline, and we as a squad, as a team and as the backs - we're looking forward to and are up for that challenge.

"It's still a final and you know how finals go these days, we'll have to wait and see how the entertainment goes on Friday night.

"You can't only rely on the forwards - it's a 23-man game so everyone's got a job to do and you've just got to deliver to the best of your ability."

Le Roux also reckons his long-established combination with Springbok teammate Handre Pollard could prove crucial on Friday, and provide the Bulls with a crucial edge.

"Polly and I go back to 2014, when we first played together for the Springboks, so it's been a few years," he added.

"We know each other well and I think we understand each other, we know our strengths and weaknesses. We know what the one does, then the other just follows up and backs him.

"We are each other's eyes and help each other as best we can. Communication is the most important."

The 36-year-old says his preparation has remained the same throughout his career, helping him stay in the right mindset for the biggest occasions.

"My routine stays the same - nothing changes - and it puts me in the best position, in the right mindset and the right zone to give my best for the team.

"It's about the big moments and focus is very important."
