FIFA Club World Cup wrap: Bayern Munich score 10 against Auckland City

Al Ahly 0-0 Inter Miami

The tournament opener saw Egyptian giants Al Ahly face off against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Despite the star power on display, neither side could find a breakthrough, resulting in a goalless draw. Both teams showed flashes of brilliance, but defences held firm, leaving them to share the points in a cagey start to Group A.

Bayern Munich 10-0 Auckland City

German powerhouse Bayern Munich wasted no time in asserting their dominance, dismantling Auckland City with a resounding 10-0 victory in Cincinnati.

This emphatic win in Group C sent a clear message to their rivals, with Jamal Musiala bagging a hat-trick. The Oceania representatives struggled to cope with Bayern's relentless attack, making this the most one-sided affair of the opening weekend. Thomas Muller, Michael Olise, and Kingsley Coman all scored twice, while Sacha Boey also put his name on the scoresheet.

Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 Atletico Madrid

In a highly anticipated clash in Pasadena, Paris Saint-Germain showcased their attacking prowess by defeating Atletico Madrid 4-0.

Goals from Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Senny Mayulu, and a stoppage-time penalty from Lee Kang-in sealed a commanding victory for the French champions. Despite a disallowed goal for Atletico, PSG's clinical finishing and fluid play established them as early contenders in Group B.

Palmeiras 0-0 FC Porto

Another stalemate unfolded in Group A as Brazilian champions Palmeiras battled FC Porto to a 0-0 draw at MetLife Stadium.

Both teams demonstrated defensive solidity and tactical discipline, cancelling each other out in a tightly fought contest. The result leaves both sides with a point, setting up an intriguing battle for qualification from their group.

Botafogo 2-1 Seattle Sounders

Brazilian side Botafogo secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field in a lively Group B encounter.

The South American champions demonstrated their attacking intent, eventually breaking down a resilient Seattle defence.

Jair Cunha opened the scoring for Botafogo in the 28th minute, before the lead was doubled on the stroke of half-time by Igor Jesus. Cristian Roldan pulled one back for Seattle in the 75th minute.

This win gives Botafogo a crucial three points and an early advantage in their group, while Seattle will be looking to bounce back in their next fixture.
