Ruan Venter talks Springbok aspirations ahead of URC return
Lions forward Ruan Venter is eager to put a difficult period behind him and compete for a place in the Springbok squad later this year.

The loose forward left the Stormers for pastures new at Racing 92 in France in 2024. After a season and a half, Diyamani found his way back to the Mother City and his beloved Stormers, where he's earned 59 caps.
The 28-year-old has since made two appearances off the bench in the iconic blue and white hoops, scoring a try against the Bulls on the weekend.
Dayimani matches his glitz with dynamic play and teammate Willemse is thrilled to have him back in the squad.
"He has just brought so much energy and spirit," said the double World Cup winner this week.
"His style of play matches the Stormers and how we play. He is part of us, and he is always part of us. The stint in Paris was something that he needed, especially for his growth and his maturity.
"To have him back is magic, and he is kind of like a 'Joker' player for us. He can pop up anywhere on the field, whether that be in the wide channel or the middle of the field.
"You just know that when you create an opportunity or when someone hits a gap, he is going to be on your shoulder. He can also scramble on defence when we need him. He is a great player and a great addition to have back in the team."
The Stormers host the Dragons in Cape Town in Round 13 of the URC on Saturday.
