South Africa face the Reggae Boyz at the Hidalgo Stadium in Pachuca on Thursday in their last match before the tournament gets underway. Bafana will then shift their focus to the highly anticipated clash against Mexico at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on June 11.
Broos welcomed the opportunity to take on Jamaica, saying the fixture fills an important gap in Bafana's preparations after last week's goalless draw against Nicaragua.
"It is something we needed. We played last week against Nicaragua, but the time between that game and the first game against Mexico was too long. We are happy with Jamaica," the Bafana coach told the media.
"They are 71st in the world rankings, so they are a good opponent for us and a last test before the opening game."
Jamaica narrowly missed out on World Cup qualification after losing 1-0 to the Democratic Republic of Congo in a playoff match played in Mexico on March 31. Broos believes that result underlines the quality of the Caribbean side.
"They played in the playoffs against DRC and DRC won, but it was not easy for them," he said.
"They are a very good opponent and it may be something we need ahead of a difficult game against Mexico."
The Belgian coach also expressed his satisfaction with Bafana's training base in Pachuca, where the squad is preparing in high-altitude conditions similar to those they will encounter in Mexico City.
"We are very happy we are here. It has only been one day, but we feel enormous support from the city and from the people here," said Broos.
Broos dismissed concerns that a 24-hour delay caused by visa issues would affect the team's preparations.
"We are one day late, but that cannot influence the adaptation to high altitude. It's not a problem that we are a day late," he added.
The Jamaica clash now offers Bafana one final opportunity to fine-tune their preparations before their World Cup campaign begins, especially after their disappointing result against Nicaragua.
