IPL: Stephen Fleming says Chennai Super Kings need to execute better

The Super Kings went down by five wickets to Punjab Kings on Friday which followed an eight-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals in their season opener.

Fleming highlighted his team's bowling after they failed to defend a target of 210 against Punjab while they have have now leaked 338 runs in 30.5 overs and taken only seven wickets in two games n 2026.

"Bowling is under pressure in the IPL, especially with the impact (player) rule, Fleming told reporters after the loss.

"You've seen players who are taking the game on and their skillset is very high. All bowling attacks are under pressure.

"We need to execute better, there's no doubt about it. It was our first real run today. The last one was a little seamer, a green seamer with a low score.

"That's our first real under-pressure run and we were below where we needed to be, where we have been operating and training."

Fleming will hope his team get their first win of the campaign when they travel to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday.
