Man Utd open to Casemiro extension under wage-cut condition

Man Utd open to Casemiro extension under wage-cut condition

Casemiro, currently one of United's highest earners on a reported 375,000 pounds-a-week deal, is under contract until June 2026. However, the club also holds an option to extend his deal by a further year to 2027 - something they're reluctant to trigger at his current salary level.

United's willingness to keep the 33-year-old hinges on his acceptance of a revised wage structure, part of the club's broader efforts to reduce its bloated payroll following the exits of David De Gea, Raphael Varane and Marcus Rashford.

Despite the financial concerns, Casemiro remains valued by manager Ruben Amorim, under whom he has become a key figure in midfield.

“He's still seen as someone who brings stability and experience to a midfield that will undergo major changes,” one club source told ESPN.

Although clubs in Brazil and the Saudi Pro League have expressed interest in signing Casemiro, he is reportedly settled in Manchester with his family. He will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January should United opt against a new agreement.
