Noni Madueke: England 'very confident' ahead of World Cup semi-final against Argentina

Thomas Tuchel's team booked their place in the tournament's last four with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway on Saturday in Miami, recovering from a goal down to secure only the fourth World Cup semi-final appearance in England's history.

Jude Bellingham struck twice to seal the comeback, taking his combined tally with Harry Kane to five goals across England's knockout victories. Madueke believes the pair's excellent form gives rival defences plenty to think about.

England's path to the semi-finals has been anything but straightforward. They edged past DR Congo 2-1 before claiming a dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico on the hosts' home soil, with both encounters proving fiercely contested.

Next up is a semi-final against Argentina on Wednesday, with a place in the final at stake. The winners will meet either Spain or France.

"Very confident," said Madueke when asked about how he was feeling ahead of the Argentina game, on the latest episode of Lions' Den Connected by EE.

"Like B [Bukayo Saka] said, we have match-winners and going through the tournament we haven't really focused on the opposition in a sense where we're worried about them.

"I feel like other teams will be more worried about us."

He added: "It's been a good experience, coming into the last week now. It's all about finishing strong."
