The Sharks went down 26-10 to Sale Sharks last time out, leaving their chances of qualifying from Pool 1 hanging by a knife-edge.
The Glasgow Warriors and Sale Sharks have both secured their passage to the knockout rounds with Saracens, Toulouse and the Sharks left to duke it out for the remaining two places.
Saracens are in pole position to claim one of the remaining two spots, sitting on 10 points while Toulouse have six and the Sharks are another point back on five.
With Saracens playing Glasgow and Toulouse taking on Sale, the Sharks will be targeting nothing short of a bonus point win to give themselves the best chance of going through.
"The aim is to get maximum points. We want to win and hopefully pick up extra points as well, to improve our points difference [of -48]. We're going all in and seeing this as a playoff match," Nche said, according to SA Rugby Magazine.
"Clermont play a very expansive game. Even though they've got a big French pack, they like to offload and play with tempo. They've been very consistent in how they play.
"It's going to be a good challenge for us. We need to contain their forwards so their backs don't get opportunities to shine."
While Nche conceded the fixture demands on South African teams require them to have bigger squads than they have ever needed before, it is no excuse for poor performance when travelling.
"It's our job to play rugby. We were used to playing one competition before [Super Rugby], and now these competitions require bigger squads and more rotation than we were used to," he said.
"We just have to adapt. I actually think it will raise the quality of players coming through, because more guys get exposure. Every team has to find the right balance, make sure they've got fresh players, and that everyone is at a similar level."
