Pedri: Hansi Flick has improved Barcelona's professionalism

Flick enjoyed an outstanding first season in Catalonia, winning three trophies and overseeing a strong domestic campaign. Barcelona currently lead La Liga with a four-point advantage over rivals Real Madrid, having won 15 of their 18 league matches and scored an impressive 51 goals.

Ferran Torres has been their most prolific attacker, netting 13 goals across all competitions, while teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has emerged as a key creative force with seven league assists.

Despite their domestic dominance, Flick's tactical approach has faced scrutiny, particularly in the Champions League. Barcelona's European campaign has been inconsistent, highlighted by a heavy 3-0 defeat to Chelsea earlier in the competition.

However, a recent 2-1 victory over Frankfurt helped steady their continental ambitions and ease some of the pressure surrounding the team's set-up.

Pedri insisted that Flick's ideas are delivering clear progress, pointing to the team's attacking output and growing cohesion.

"It looks easy when you see it from the outside, because the defensive line is very high up the pitch and it creates a lot of space between the goal and the midfield," he told Esquire magazine.

"Sometimes, especially from the outside, you think they'd just play a through ball and be one-on-one with the goalkeeper. But, especially if you press high up the pitch, it's very difficult for them to find the space needed to make the perfect pass and get the ball to the striker."

In terms of Flick's impact at the club, Pedri added: "I think that, within the club, in terms of professionalism, he's changed many things.

"He's instilled a certain German character. On the other hand, in day-to-day life, although these are details that aren't very visible from the outside, it's very family-oriented.

"He's always helping us, giving us advice, especially tactically; in that defensive line we implemented last season, which many people didn't expect. In fact, we were the first ones who didn't expect it. I think it worked out perfectly."
