Proteas spinner Prenelan Subrayen reported for suspect bowling action

The 31-year-old took the wicket of opener Travis Head on his way to figures of 1-46 in 10 overs as the visitors completed a comprehensive 98-run victory to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

Subrayen also made his debut in the Test format last month, playing in the second match of the series against Zimbabwe, taking four wickets in the game.

"The match officials' report cited concerns about the legality of the 31-year-old's bowling action," said a media release from the ICC.

Subrayen now needs to undergo an independent assessment of his action at an ICC-accredited testing facility within the next 14 days. He can continue bowling until the results of his test are known.

It remains to be seen if the off-spinner will be selected for the second ODI as the Proteas look to wrap up the series in Mackay on Friday.
