Report: Barcelona ask Bayern Munich about potential Harry Kane deal

The Catalan club have reportedly asked the Bayern Munich forward's representatives to gauge whether a future move could be possible, according to the Daily Mail.

Barcelona are looking for a high-profile successor to Robert Lewandowski and have added the England captain to their shortlist as they assess several options.

The approach reportedly received a cool response. Kane's entourage made it clear that a transfer is difficult at this stage, stressing that the 33-year-old remains fully committed to Bayern Munich.

The striker is said to be happy in Germany and satisfied with life in Bavaria, with his camp focused entirely on his current club.

Kane has one year remaining on his contract at Bayern, where discussions over a new deal are expected to become a priority once the World Cup has concluded.

Although Barcelona are continuing to monitor developments, any attempt to prise him away from the Bundesliga champions would be highly complicated.

Bayern have no intention of selling their star forward and would strongly resist any effort to sign him during the current transfer window.

Nevertheless, Barcelona are reportedly willing to make a substantial financial commitment if they receive any indication that an agreement could eventually be reached.
