Report: Joan Laporta's re-election at Barcelona gains momentum

Report: Joan Laporta's re-election at Barcelona gains momentum

According to Mundo Deportivo, the first-team dressing room has signalled its approval, with several eligible players and head coach Hansi Flick officially signing in favour of Laporta's pre-candidacy.

This internal momentum is further bolstered by high-profile endorsements, most notably from Aitana Bonmati, whose public backing carries significant weight across the club's community.

Beyond the pitch, the sporting hierarchy has made its allegiance clear. Deco and Bojan Krkic recently made a publicised visit to the 'Save Barca' headquarters to formalise their support, an image that quickly resonated with the fanbase.

Even newer squad members like Dani Olmo and Gerard Martín have shown subtle signs of alignment with the current administration's vision.

This surge in backing is reflected in the raw data of the signature collection period. By favouring a direct, regional campaigning style over aggressive recruitment tactics, Laporta's team has managed to improve upon his 2021 performance.

His share of submitted signatures has risen from 43.6 to 45.7 percent, a 2.2 percentage-point increase that suggests his institutional grip on the club is stronger now than when he first returned to office.
