Report: Thomas Muller's next move - MLS adventure awaits Bayern Munich legend

The 35-year-old attacking midfielder, who parted ways with Bayern after the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, is set to embark on a fresh challenge across the Atlantic.

Muller's departure from Bayern marked the end of a 25-year journey that began in their youth academy. Over 17 seasons with the senior team, he amassed an extraordinary record: 756 appearances, 250 goals, 223 assists, 13 Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokals, two Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, and eight German Super Cups.

"Thomas Muller has been the heartbeat of Bayern for over a decade," Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl said in a statement on the club's official website. "His legacy here is unmatched, and we wish him the best in his next chapter."

Now, Muller is poised to bring his flair to the MLS, with Los Angeles FC (LAFC) emerging as a frontrunner to secure his signature.

Posts on X from @cfbayern and @DeadlineDayLive confirm Muller has committed to an MLS move, with LAFC, home to stars like Hugo Lloris and Denis Bouanga, actively working to finalize the deal.

Bayern are supporting the transfer, viewing Muller as an ideal ambassador for the club in the U.S. ahead of the 2026 World Cup, as noted on X.

"I'm excited for what lies ahead," Muller said in a recent interview shared by @SkySportDE. "The MLS offers a new challenge, and I'm ready to make an impact."

Two MLS clubs are in the race, but LAFC's pursuit is gaining momentum, with an announcement expected within 7-10 days, per @Plettigoal.

For football fans, Muller's move signals the continuation of a storied career, blending his trademark intelligence and versatility with the growing ambition of the MLS.
