Roundup: Croatia and Denmark seal UEFA Nations League quarter-final spots

Both teams secured their places in the last eight, joining France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.

Croatia's Gvardiol Rescues Quarter-Final Place

Croatia 1-1 Portugal

In Split, Josko Gvardiol's second-half goal ensured Croatia advanced to the quarter-finals.

Joao Felix put Portugal ahead in the 33rd minute with a clinical finish, but Zlatko Dalic's tactical changes turned the tide. Substitute Kristijan Jakic's pinpoint cross found Gvardiol at the far post in the 65th minute, and the defender coolly slotted home to send the home crowd into raptures.

Scotland's Late Heroics Relegate Poland

Poland 1-2 Scotland

Scotland avoided direct relegation from League A thanks to Andy Robertson's dramatic stoppage-time header in Poland.

John McGinn gave the visitors an early lead, and Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay both hit the woodwork in their search for a second. Poland levelled through Kamil Piątkowski's stunning long-range strike, but Robertson's late intervention sealed the win and confirmed Poland's relegation.

Denmark Hold On in Serbia

Serbia 0-0 Denmark

Denmark secured their quarter-final spot with a hard-fought goalless draw in Leskovac.

Kasper Schmeichel was pivotal, making key saves to deny Dusan Vlahovic. At the other end, Aleksandar Mitrovic's acrobatic clearance stopped Mikkel Damsgaard's header from breaking the deadlock. Serbia's Strahinja Pavlovic was sent off late in the match, leaving the hosts in the League A/B play-offs.

Other Highlights

Spain Edge Thriller Against Switzerland: Bryan Zaragoza's stoppage-time penalty earned Spain a dramatic 3-2 win, keeping their unbeaten record intact.

San Marino Make History: A 3-1 victory in Liechtenstein marked San Marino's largest-ever win and secured their promotion to League C.

Northern Ireland Promoted: Despite blowing a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw with Luxembourg, Northern Ireland achieved promotion to League B.

Monday's Results:

Group A1: Croatia 1-1 Portugal, Poland 1-2 Scotland
Group A4: Serbia 0-0 Denmark, Spain 3-2 Switzerland
Group C2: Kosovo 1-0 Lithuania, Romania 4-1 Cyprus
Group C3: Bulgaria 1-1 Belarus, Luxembourg 2-2 Northern Ireland
