Ruan Venter signs three-year contract extension with the Lions

Ruan Venter signs three-year contract extension with the Lions

Venter is a versatile loose forward that can play anywhere in the back row of the scrum and has even started a few games at lock for the Lions.

At just 23 years of age, he has quickly become a key player for the Lions since making his debut in 2022. His decision to sign a contract extension is surely to be greeted favourably by both fans of the Lions and the team's coaching staff.

He has already played 75 times in all competitions for the Lions, scoring 16 tries and earning himself a call-up to the Springbok squad in 2024 when he earned his only cap at international level against Portugal.

His ability to play loose forward and lock, as well as his form in Lions colours, has surely caught the eye of Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus, who places great value on players that can fill multiple positions.
