Report: Luke Shaw open to offers amid uncertainty over Man Utd future
Luke Shaw is reportedly open to considering offers this transfer window as doubts grow over his long-term future at Manchester United.
Head coach Ruben Amorim spoke to club media after a training session at Soldier Field in Chicago, where United are currently based as part of Tour 2025, presented by Snapdragon.
Amorim praised the commitment shown by Mbeumo and Cunha, revealing that both players were courted by top European sides following standout campaigns in the 2024/25 season.
Mbeumo completed his move from Brentford in time to join the pre-season tour, allowing the winger valuable time to integrate with his new team-mates. Cunha, who signed earlier in the transfer window, has also been training with the squad.
Both players were reportedly targets for several major clubs, including those competing in the 2025/26 Champions League, but opted instead for Amorim's United rebuild.
"Cunha and Bryan, they had different solutions [offers]," Ruben told the club's official website.
"They had Champions League offers. And they wanted to come here. People that say that they come here because of the money... that is a lie. That I know for sure. So, I'm really happy with that.
"That is the key point. They have to want to come here. I think what we can do to the fans is that we want players who have proved [themselves] already.
"Sometimes you have a player with a lot of potential, you have to be aware of that, but all the players that are coming, we need to know the player. We need to talk to the player, we have to explain the project.
"And then one really important thing is that they want to come here. That is the key point. If during the market we can find someone that can help the team and have all that boxes with them, we are going to do it. If not, we cannot do it because it's an important time in our club."
United arrived in the United States on Wednesday and flew from Chicago to New Jersey later on Friday. Their first pre-season fixture on American soil is set to take place soon, giving fans a first look at the new signings in action.
