Springbok prop Thomas du Toit set to return to Sharks next season

The versatile prop will rejoin the Durban franchise - where he's earned over 100 caps - following the conclusion of Bath's Premiership Rugby season.

"Bath Rugby can confirm that Thomas du Toit will be returning to South Africa at the end of this season to rejoin his former club, The Sharks, in Durban," confirmed Bath Rugby on the socials.

"The journey isn't over yet, but thank you for being a part of this family, Thomas."

The 30-year-old joined Bath in 2023 and has enjoyed two brilliant seasons with the English club. Du Toit racked up 21 tries,  helping them to the 2024/2025 Premiership title, the Challenge Cup, and was nominated for the PREM Player of the Season.

Du Toit's form resulted in a recall to the Springbok squad, where he's played a pivotal role in their success so far this season.

Now, the Paarl Boys High graduate returns to where he cut his teeth as a young professional. Du Toit attended the Sharks Academy in Durban and would eventually run out 116 times over nine seasons for the senior side.

Du Toit will bolster the Sharks front row stocks, which include Boks Ox Nche, Vincent Koch, Ruan Dreyer and the injured Trevor Nyakane.
