Thabiso Monyane determined to make up for lost time with Kaizer Chiefs after injury lay-off

Thabiso Monyane determined to make up for lost time with Kaizer Chiefs after injury lay-off

The 25-year-old right back was a second half substitute for Dillan Solomons in the 1-0 Betway Premiership victory over Durban City on Friday.

He has been injured in the clash with Golden Arrows at the end of August.

Reflecting on the game, a happy Monyane said in the Citizen: "It feels good to be back. It has been a long five weeks for me."

Chiefs' good early season form sees them occupy fourth place on the league standings, but they could move level with leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with a win over Orbit College on Wednesday.

The newly-promoted side are down in tenth with six less points than Chiefs and from a game more but have won three of their last four Premiership games.

Ahead of the upcoming clash, the player added: "Teams that play us now are very motivated.

"But for us we have home ground advantage and we are looking to keep our momentum going. We don't want to slip up now, especially as things get close to the year's end.

"We know they (Orbit) are a very energetic side. They won't be so aggressive but will look to play on the country, they have speedy wingers. (But) we know what our strengths are and we are looking forward to taking advantage of their weaknesses."
