Walid Regragui credits teamwork as Morocco reach AFCON last four

Brahim Diaz gave Morocco the lead before Ismael Saimari sealed the victory in the second half, ensuring the hosts remain strong contenders for the title.

Morocco have now won four of their five matches in the tournament, matching their joint-best performance in a single AFCON edition.

"Qualifying for the semi-finals is well deserved, and the players earned it," he was quoted by BEinSports.

"They gave everything, and when they stay focused, things go well. We must remain humble because every team wants to beat us."

The Atlas Lions dominated the match, with Cameroon limited to just five shots on goal, none of which troubled goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

Morocco's tactical discipline and clinical finishing made the difference in a game where their opponents struggled to create clear chances.

Regragui also praised the home support, describing the fans as an extra player on the pitch.

"It truly felt like we were playing with 12 players," he said.

Morocco now prepare to face either Algeria or Nigeria in the semi-finals, with the coach insisting that focus and discipline will be key against another top opponent.

A win would take the hosts to their first AFCON final since 2004 and keep their ambitions for continental glory alive.
