The Belgium international completed his switch to Old Trafford earlier this week after United triggered the 35-million-pound release clause in his contract. In his message, Tielemans thanked everyone connected with Villa and wished the club every success in the future.
The 28-year-old leaves on a high after helping Unai Emery's side capture the UEFA Europa League during the 2025-26 campaign, lifting the trophy before bringing his three-year spell at Villa Park to an end. Having arrived on a free transfer in 2023, he quickly established himself as a central figure in Emery's midfield.
"There are moments in football that are harder than any match you will ever play. Saying goodbye is one of them," he said.
"From the first day that I arrived at Aston Villa, I felt welcomed. Wearing the Villa shirt has been a privilege. Together we shared unforgettable moments. I want to thank all of you.
"All the people that worked tirelessly to make Aston Villa such a special club. Most of all, thank you to the supporters.
"You never asked for perfection, only commitment, honesty and heart. I hope I gave you exactly that every time that I wore the Villa badge.
"The club will always have a special place in my heart. A part of my heart will always belong at Villa Park. And for one last time, Up the Villa."
Tielemans' career began at Anderlecht, where he made his senior debut as a 16-year-old in 2013 before becoming the youngest Belgian to play in the UEFA Champions League later that year.
After winning two Belgian Pro League titles and the 2016-17 Belgian Professional Footballer of the Year award, he moved to Monaco before joining Leicester City in 2019, famously scoring the stunning winner in the 2021 FA Cup final against Chelsea to secure the Foxes' first triumph in the competition.
