Zitha Kwinika backs Kaizer Chiefs to bounce back in Premiership clash against Chippa United

Chiefs return to the domestic competition having collected just one point from their opening two CAF group-stage outings against Al Masry and Zamalek.

Kwinika, who played every minute of both continental matches, says the team must quickly shift their mindset back to domestic priorities.

“We probably need to readjust and go back to the league again because the focus for now was still CAF,” he said.

“The last time we played, against Orbit College, we’ll probably need to readjust and get back to the league.”

Chiefs enter the match with a clear objective: reclaim third place from Sekhukhune United, a realistic target given they still have a game in hand.

With only two league matches remaining before the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 break, every point becomes crucial in their pursuit of finishing the year in a strong position.

Their form, however, has been inconsistent. Chiefs have managed just four wins in their last 10 matches across all competitions. Still, Kwinika believes the team is learning and improving through the challenges presented by continental football.

“It’s still in the process because there are still more games to play. I think we have learned from the past two games we have played, and we are getting better,” he explained.

Looking ahead to Chippa United, Kwinika expects a structured and disciplined opponent.

“They’re a tough team with good structure, but I think we’re ready for them,” he added.

Chiefs will close the year with an away trip to TS Galaxy in Nelspruit on Sunday.
