Kaizer Chiefs target sixth straight Betway Premiership win away to Polokwane City

While Amakhosi are still mathematically in the title race, the club are realistically chasing a top three finish with seven games left of their season.

In third place with 45 points, the Soweto side are six clear of AmaZulu in fourth and seven ahead of Sekhukhune United, who dropped from third to fifth in recent weeks.

While they come into this game on the back of a solid run of form and a recent 4-1 demolition of bottom-club Magesi, Polokwane have been far more inconsistent.

Rise and Shine are seventh on the standings with 33 points, following a 1-1 draw with Chippa United last time out.

Recent results include losses to Magesi, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu and TS Galaxy, alongside stalemates with Sekhukhune and the Chilli Boys.

Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze recently urged his team to maintain their concentration as they bid for a strong end to their season.

"We need to keep pressure, pressure on everyone, in training, out training to recover well, sleep early and pull in the same direction, the message must be consistent, we can't relax, we need to be better everyday, concentrate in every training session, it's the only thing that will keep us in a good space,” he said on iDiski Times.

After his team's recent draw, Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe says their dream of continental football is still on track.

"We have climbed the first mountain, and that was to save the team from relegation; it is done and dusted,” Mohafe said in the Daily Dispatch.

"The number two mountain is the top-eight spot. If we can settle that, we will think about the number-four spot, which is achievable.

"It is within reach based on the teams that are in front of us; the log is congested. I think Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune are in form, but we will continue to fight."
