Orbit College try to mend bridges after coach Pogiso Makhoye comments on Monnapule Saleng

Makhoye recently questioned Saleng's impact at the newly promoted Betway Premiership side, suggesting the team performed better without the winger in the line-up. He highlighted their display against Pirates - when Saleng was unavailable due to the loan agreement - as an example of improved performance.

The remarks drew criticism from Orbit's own supporters and Pirates fans, who felt the comments disrespected the 27-year-old attacker.

In response, Orbit released a public apology and reaffirming their support for Saleng.

"We sincerely apologize for the unintended distress caused by these comments," the club said in a statement.

"Monnapule Saleng is a valued member of our team, and we deeply regret any impression that his contributions have been undervalued or unfairly criticized. As a club, we are committed to supporting our players' growth and well-being, both on and off the field."

Orbit added that they are engaging with Saleng and other stakeholders to address the matter internally, while pledging to ensure "more thoughtful communication" in the future.

Saleng, who joined Orbit College on loan ahead of the 2025/26 season, has endured a slow start to life at the North West club after struggling for game time at Pirates last term.
