Betway Premiership trio eyes Kaizer Chiefs trialist Mhleli Mabuza
Kaizer Chiefs' latest trialist, Mhleli Mabuza, has caught the attention of at least three Betway Premiership clubs as he undergoes assessment at Naturena.
With both sides having plenty at stake, Cardoso dubbed it "the game of the weekend."
Cardoso, who spent seven years at Chiefs before joining Sekhukhune, believes Amakhosi will arrive with renewed belief following their recent Nedbank Cup triumph over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates - their first piece of silverware in nearly a decade.
"Winning the cup must have given Chiefs that energy to push for the top eight," Cardoso said. "They'll be up for it. And for us, we're just one point ahead of Stellenbosch, so we can't afford to slip up. We want that CAF Confederation Cup spot again."
Cardoso also extended praise to his former club, saying the cup win was a long time coming. "Well done to them. I think it's deserved after so many years. Ten years is a long time without a trophy. This means a lot to the chairman and the fans."
Chiefs are desperate to turn their cup momentum into league points after managing just one win in their last 10 league outings.
With suspensions ruling out Inacio Miguel and Bradley Cross, Dove is expected to pair with Zitha Kwinika in central defence, while Happy Mashiane is likely to start at left-back.
Saturday's clash promises high stakes and intensity as both teams battle for key positions in the final stretch of the season.
