Betway Premiership trio eyes Kaizer Chiefs trialist Mhleli Mabuza

Mabuza, who began training with Amakhosi earlier this week, has returned to South African shores after a breakthrough campaign in Portugal.

According to FarPost, the 24-year-old was crowned the Best Right Back in the Campeonato de Portugal following a standout season with Louletano DC, where he registered an impressive nine assists.

His performances have sparked interest from local clubs, with AmaZulu FC and Sekhukhune United reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

A product of a KwaZulu-Natal football academy, Mabuza made the move to Portugal in 2018 after showcasing his talent in friendly fixtures.

Though his European journey came with its fair share of challenges - including adapting to a new culture, language, and playing philosophy - he has since grown into a confident and versatile right back.

Back in Mzansi, he now hopes to earn a spot in Nasreddine Nabi's squad. Chiefs, who have secured a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup, are in the market to bolster their squad - particularly at right back.

With Reeve Frosler sidelined and Dillan Solomons the only fit option, Mabuza's arrival comes at a crucial time.

Known for his attacking runs and solid defensive work, the dynamic wingback could provide the depth and quality Amakhosi are looking for.
