Edmilson Dove: Kaizer Chiefs must put cup celebrations on ice in top-eight pursuit

Chiefs, currently ninth on the log with two matches remaining, face a stern test against an in-form Sekhukhune side at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday. While the club recently celebrated Nedbank Cup success, attention has now turned to salvaging what has otherwise been a disappointing league campaign.

"We know the importance of Saturday's game, and we have put the celebrations aside," Dove told the club's media department.

"We've shifted focus back to the league. The training sessions have been good, the mood is positive, and we know what's required. The coach has been preparing us well, and we are ready to fight."

The Mozambican international acknowledged that Chiefs' season has been below expectations but stressed the importance of finishing strong.

"There are no easy games in this league. What matters now is focusing on ourselves and correcting what we haven't done well," he added.

Dove emphasized the team's determination to secure all three points on Saturday.

"It's been a difficult season, but our main goal now is to make sure we finish in the top eight. We'll do everything we can to make that happen."
