Sunrisers Hyderabad snap Rajasthan Royals' four-match win streak

SRH posted a healthy 216/6, but the right-arm medium fast of Hinge was what brought them the victory as it nipped RR's chase in the bud.

Debutant Hinge struck three times in the first over of the Royals' chase, making IPL history in the process. And he added one more in his next over, finishing a 12-ball spell with 6/4 and reducing RR to 9/5 in the fourth over.

But internationals Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira stopped the rot and showed incredible grit for the Royals. They put together a 118-run partnership for the sixth wicket, setting a record for the franchise. However, after Protea star Ferreira departed for his 69 (44), the house of cards toppled, with Sakib Hussain wrapping up the tail and grabbing four wickets for his efforts.

Earlier, Jofra Archer struck with the very first ball of the match as Abishek Sharma waltzed down the track and only managed to slice it to backward point. But that turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it brought Sunrisers captain Ishan Kishan to the crease.

He quickly took hold of the situation, blasting sixes in each of the next three overs. Travis Head was next out for an unusually subdued 18 off 18. Kisahn continued his carnage with willing partner Heinrich Klaasen. The pair blasted 88 off the next 39 deliveries and a target of 240 looked on the cards. But in classic live by the sword, die by the sword, Kishan would skew one sky high and depart for 91 off just 44 to set up Sunrisers for glory at 143/3 with seven overs left.

Klaasen drove Tushar Deshpande straight to cover, leaving with a valuable 40, but the rate had slowed. Nitish Reddy and Salil Arora combined for half a dozen sixes at the death to get them past the 200 mark.
