Vaibhav Sooryavanshi makes India debut but England prevail in second T20I

After the first match was abandoned due to rain, all eyes was on 15-year-old Sooryavanshi who was given his debut, to become India's youngest male to get a first cap since the great Sachin Tendulkar.

Sooryavanshi struck two sixes but could only manage to get to 14 off 10 balls as India posted a total of 190-7 thanks largely to 40-ball 49 from wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan.

Abhishek Sharma struck a brisk 43 while Tilak Varma contributed a quick-fire 24 not out off just 11 balls to take the tourists to the 190-run mark.

Sam Curran took figures of 3-33 in four overs to peg India back from going over the 200-run milestone.

England did not get off to the best of starts in the run-chase openers Phil Salt and Jos Buttler were both dismissed without scoring within the first over by left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh.

Jacob Bethell though rose to the occasion and stroked a brilliant unbeaten 76 while captain Harry Brook and Tom Banton both scored 39 as England won with an over to spare.
