The 24-year-old forward has reportedly informed the BVB that he wants to move to La Liga champions Barcelona and will not sign a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in June 2027.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Adeyemi has agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants, who have also sent an official bid for the player who missed the FIFA World Cup 2026 through injury.

Barca are still expected to pursue main target Julian Alvarez from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid despite acquiring the young German attacker and Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

Adeyemi has made 146 appearances for Dortmund, scoring 36 goals whilst providing 25 assists. He has also scored once for Germany in 11 caps.
