Agent confirms Tlakusani Mthethwa's Stellenbosch move

Mthethwa's agent, Jazzman Mahlakgane, confirmed the move to Soccer Laduma, revealing that negotiations with the Cape Winelands outfit had been successfully concluded as Stellies continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

While Mahlakgane refrained from discussing the finer details of the transfer, he acknowledged that the deal had been finalised and preferred to leave the official announcement to the club.

"Firstly, it's not something I would like to talk about because I'd rather leave it to the club to make the announcement," Mahlakgane said.

"But you've got your information and I respect that. Yes, we have concluded negotiations with Stellenbosch. It's done. It's official."

Although the agent did not reveal specifics about the agreement, the move represents an exciting new chapter for Mthethwa, whose contract with the Rich Boyz expired at the end of last month.

The 33-year-old joins Stellenbosch after an impressive spell at Richards Bay and will be eager to make an impact under Steve Barker.

Mthethwa has built a reputation as a hardworking and reliable midfielder, having also enjoyed productive stints at clubs such as Moroka Swallows.

His experience and leadership qualities are expected to add valuable depth to the Stellies squad as the club prepares for the 2026/27 campaign.
