Alaves end Barcelona's winning streak to reinvigorate La Liga survival hopes

Alaves 1-0 Barcelona

A massive upset occurred at Mendizorrotza as relegation-threatened Alaves stunned the newly crowned champions 1-0. Despite Barcelona dominating possession, they struggled to break down a resilient home defense.

The decisive moment came just before half-time when Ibrahim Diabate fired home an unstoppable volley from a corner. The victory provides Alaves a massive boost in their fight for survival, while ending Barcelona's twelve-game winning streak and their hopes for a 100-point season.

Villarreal 2-3 Sevilla

Sevilla pulled off a spectacular comeback at the Estadio de la Ceramica to distance themselves from the drop zone. Villarreal looked comfortable early on after goals from Gerard Moreno and Mikautadze gave them a 2-0 lead within twenty minutes.

However, Sevilla fought back fiercely; Oso and Kike Salas levelled the score before the break. The drama peaked in the 72nd minute when Akor Adams netted the winner, securing Sevilla's third consecutive victory.

Espanyol 2-0 Athletic

Espanyol delivered a professional performance at the RCDE Stadium, dealing a blow to Athletic Club's European ambitions. After a cagey first hour, the deadlock was finally broken in the 69th minute by substitute Pere Milla, who capitalized on an assist from Carlos Romero.

Athletic pushed for an equalizer but left themselves vulnerable at the back, allowing Kike Garcia to seal the three points with a clinical finish in stoppage time.

Getafe 3-1 Mallorca

Getafe enjoyed a comfortable evening at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, led by a standout performance from Martin Satriano. The forward found the net twice in the first half to put the hosts in control. Zaid Romero added a third after the hour mark to effectively end the contest.

Although Omar Mascarell pulled one back for Mallorca shortly after, it served only as a consolation as Getafe's organized defence easily saw out the win.
