Jose Riveiro insists he has no plans to raid Orlando Pirates
New Al Ahly head coach Jose Riveiro says he won't raid Orlando Pirates out of respect for his former club.
The decision to cut Dieng's loan short was made in coordination with Al Ahly, reflecting the strong relationship and mutual understanding between the two clubs, as reported by Kingfut.com.
This move ensures that Dieng will be available to rejoin the Cairo giants in time for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
In an official statement, AlKholood expressed sincere gratitude to Dieng for his professionalism and outstanding performances during his time in the Saudi Pro League. The club highlighted his significant contributions to the team's midfield throughout the season.
"Aliou Dieng showed exceptional commitment and technical quality. We thank him for everything he brought to the team and wish him continued success with Al Ahly and the Mali national team," the club said.
Dieng is expected to feature in Al Ahly's opening match of the Club World Cup against Inter Miami - led by Lionel Messi - on June 15. The Red Devils will also face Palmeiras on June 19 and Porto on June 24 in what promises to be a challenging group.
Following his standout season in Saudi Arabia, Al Ahly reportedly received several offers for Dieng but ultimately decided to reintegrate him into Jose Riveiro's midfield plans for the upcoming campaign.
