The 28-year-old has featured prominently for the KwaZulu-Natal based side this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in seven matches.
Johnson has also been named in Bafana Bafana's recent preliminary squad's despite not making the final squad on both occasions.
"Short-term goals, I'd like to get into the Bafana squad, and to cement my place as AmaZulu number one and to get as much as possible," said Johnson to iDiski Times.
"Long-term, I'd possibly like to make a big transfer. I wouldn’t state which team. I'd like to be Bafana number one and in a big team as well."
The former Chippa United goalkeeper will be hopeful of making a claim for a 2026 FIFA World Cup berth, provided he maintains his position as Usuthu's number one.
"It's always an honour when I see my name in the squad called up by coach Hugo Broos," added Johnson.
"I think it's a reflection of the hard work that I’ve also put in from the start of the season."
He is competing with Olwethu Mzimela and former Orlando Pirates keeper Richard Ofori for a starting berth, with Johnson playing the most minutes of all three players this season.
