Ricardo Katza doesn't want to see Bloemfontein Celtic buy SuperSport
Former SuperSport United captain Ricardo Katza has voiced his disappointment over reports that the club could be sold to Bloemfontein Celtic.
Matsatsantsa find themselves in 13th place on the Betway Premiership standings with three games of their season to play.
They are just three points clear of Cape Town City in the relegation/promotion play-off places but having played two games less.
They are also just four points adrift of eighth-placed Chippa United, who they beat 2-0 in their last league encounter, thanks to goals from Bradley Grobler and Christian Saile.
Still to face are Stellenbosch on May 17, Orlando Pirates on May 20 and Richards Bay in their final fixture on May 24.
Speaking after the weekend's game and reflecting on their season objectives, Arendse told SuperSport: "It's crazy, we were busy fighting relegation, and now we are four points from reaching the top eight.
"When I took over the team, one of the first questions I asked the players was, 'Do they think we can make the top eight?' And all of a sudden, the penny dropped, and they realised we were not far from the top eight."
Arendse, who took charge of the team from sacked club legend Gavin Hunt, added: "For me, that has to be a goal. I don't entertain any talk about relegation because this team, as many people would have seen against Chippa United, are far better than a relegation scrap.
"They are top eight material as it stands right now, and that has to be a goal for my players. And if we have to sneak in via backdoor, that's fine. That's the goal for us right now."
