Argentina stun Scotland with 21-point comeback to claim famous win at Murrayfield

Scotland dominated the first hour, leading 14-0 at half-time and extending their advantage when hooker Ewan Ashman scored his second try early in the second half.

But Argentina responded with a relentless surge, with Julián Montoya, Rodrigo Isgró, Pedro Rubiolo, Pablo Matera and Justo Piccardo all crossing the line. Santiago Carreras added four conversions as the Pumas secured their first win in Edinburgh since 2009.

The momentum shifted sharply just before the hour mark, after Finn Russell threw an intercepted pass and Blair Kinghorn was sin-binned, allowing Argentina to score twice in three minutes and turn the match on its head.

Russell's penalty gave Scotland a brief 24-12 cushion, but Argentina finished far stronger, running in three late tries to complete the dramatic turnaround.

The Murrayfield crowd was not happy with the team's finish, and made their displeasure known with a chorus of boos at the final whistle.

"We fell asleep at the wheel," captain Sione Tuipulotu told TNT Sports.

"I don't think I could be as disappointed as I was last week, but I think this is more disappointing," Tuipulotu said. "I said to the boys: 'we are going to have to take a really hard look at ourselves'."
