Arthur Zwane confident in AmaZulu's readiness for new campaign

The club is gearing up for a new campaign starting with the MTN8 quarter-final clash against Stellenbosch at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.

Zwane, who initially shared coaching duties with Vusumuzi Vilakazi, took full control in February and led Usuthu to a respectable sixth-place finish in the Betway Premiership.

Reflecting on last season, Zwane highlighted personal growth and team development as crucial achievements.

"When I was given the opportunity to lead, I came in with the aim to change things - not to prove a point, but because it's my responsibility," Zwane said at a press conference where AmaZulu unveiled four new signings and their 2025/26 kit.

"The experience helped me grow. I learned a lot about managing different personalities, behaviours, and the challenges players face. When players are happy, even games you shouldn't win can go your way."

AmaZulu strengthened their squad with the additions of Thando Ngwenya, Keagan Allan, Darren Johnson, and Ryan Moon.

With the MTN8 quarterfinal now just days away, Zwane knows his side faces a tough task in Cape Town.

"Stellenbosch is not an easy team to face, especially at home where they understand the conditions well. For us, it's about adapting quickly and staying strong mentally and physically," he said.

Zwane is confident the team is ready, and consistency will be key in ensuring AmaZulu builds on the momentum of last season.
