Bafana midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo returns to Marumo Gallants

The 30-year-old former AmaZulu midfielder left Gallants for Orlando Pirates in 2022, having made 72 appearances, scoring 16 goals and creating two.

He was recently released by Pirates, after 65 games, three goals and three assists and was unattached when he linked up with the South Africa national team.

He played the full 90 minutes as Molefi Ntseki's side drew 1-1 with Algeria in their opening game and the first 70 minutes of the 2-1 win over Guinea on Monday, and is expected to start again for the clash with Niger on Friday.

During his previous spell with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, Ndlondlo helped the club reach the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.

A club statement read: "Welcome back to the Gallants family. We are excited to officially announce the return of Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, an attacking midfielder who previously played for Marumo Gallants FC in 2021-2022.

“Ndlondlo brings creativity, experience, and attacking flair to strengthen the squad for the season ahead. He will join the team at training after the national team returns from the CHAN tournament.”
