Barcelona sign Roony Bardghji as Barca Atletic player fixing registration issue

The Catalan club faced late Financial Fair Play constraints on deadline day, forcing them to register Bardghji through the Federacio Catalana as a reserve-team player. Despite this, the teenager will continue to train with the senior squad and be available for first-team selection.

Bardghji, who joined from FC Copenhagen this summer, impressed Flick during pre-season. The Swedish winger featured in one of Barca Atletic's friendlies and showed enough quality to convince the new head coach of his readiness.

"Roony has shown great attitude and talent since he arrived. We see him as part of the first-team dynamic, regardless of his registration status," Flick has said.

Barcelona are not alone in using this strategy. Real Madrid have adopted a similar approach with Argentine prodigy Franco Mastantuono, who has been registered with Castilla but already made his senior debut and wears the No. 30 shirt.

The system allows clubs to keep promising youngsters active while navigating registration limits, with Marc Bernal also following the same path at Barca.

Meanwhile, the case of Hector Fort remains unresolved. The 17-year-old full-back is attracting interest from Mallorca for a possible loan move. If he stays, he is likely to be listed with Barca Atletic but, like Bardghji, would continue training under Flick.

Barca Atletic are preparing to start their Segunda Federacion campaign on 7 September with a home match at the Johan Cruyff Stadium against Porreres.

For Bardghji, the early months in Spain look set to be about balancing his reserve-team registration with opportunities in Flick's first-team squad.
