Report: Alejandro Grimaldo chooses Atletico Madrid as Barcelona reunion fades
Alejandro Grimaldo's long-awaited return to Spain is set to happen, but the former Barcelona academy product will not be heading back to Camp Nou.

The Poland international leaves as a free agent.
Despite reported interest from AC Milan and several Saudi Pro League sides, the 37-year-old has opted for Major League Soccer and is expected to rank among the league's highest earners.
Chicago Fire believe the signing will significantly raise their international profile, aided by Chicago's sizeable Polish community.
The club currently sit third in the MLS Eastern Conference and reached the play-offs for the first time last season.
"His arrival reinforces our ambition to compete for trophies and raises the standards for the club to heights worthy of this city," said Chicago Fire director of football and head coach Gregg Berhalter.
"We cannot wait to get to work with him and have Chicago see first-hand why he is among the most revered sporting icons in the world."
They return to action on 17 July against Vancouver following the World Cup break.
His career included 12 Bundesliga seasons, during which he won 10 league titles and the 2020 Champions League. He finished runner-up in the 2021 Ballon d'Or after the 2020 award was cancelled and was named FIFA's Best Men's Player in both 2020 and 2021.
At Barcelona he scored 120 goals in 193 games, winning three La Liga titles and the 2025 Copa del Rey, but injuries limited him to 17 league starts.
