Kompany made it clear that Kane's evolution had gone beyond simply scoring goals. "He was always an incredible goal-scorer," the Bayern coach said. "He could score from anywhere - headers, left foot, right foot, long distance."
However, Kompany highlighted the striker's all-round contribution as the biggest difference since his move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
"What we see more now is his distribution, his work rate for the team, and his game intelligence," Kompany explained. "To combine that with his numbers is not easy. You have to help the team progress and still arrive in the box."
He added: "Maybe that side of his game was underestimated before, but he is ageing like fine wine, and we are enjoying that."
Bayern return to Paris with confidence, having edged a 2-1 win there earlier in the campaign. Previous meetings between the sides had also been tight, something Kompany expected again.
"These games are always very close," he said. "We have won some, they have won one, but it could easily have gone either way. It will come down to details."

Kompany admitted there was no simple solution to stopping the French champions. "There are no miracle solutions," he said. "They are dangerous on the counter and in possession, but we have the same qualities."
