The 27-year-old penned a new contract with the Bavarians last week, keeping him at the German giants until 2030.
The new deal, reportedly worth around 20 million euros per year with a 65 million release clause, prolongs his stay by three years beyond his previous expiry in 2027 and concludes a period of extensive negotiations between the club, the player, and his representatives.
Upamecano, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig, had been linked with major European clubs over the summer, including Real Madrid, but remained focused on his performances at Bayern.
"For me, mentality is the most important thing for a football player - to always keep going," he said, via MiaSanMia.
"In my mind, I always want to keep going no matter what happens on the outside. I'm always focused on myself and giving 100% in training and in games. I'm now 27 and feel very strong mentally.
"I fight for every player in our team. We're not playing Tennis. Football means we have to fight together, that's what Mia san mia means. We're always together and we fight for every player on the pitch."
Known for his consistency and commitment, he has forged a formidable centre-back partnership with Jonathan Tah and developed a strong understanding with the rest of the defensive unit under manager Vincent Kompany.
The French defender credits his upbringing in Evreux, where he honed his skills on street cage pitches, with instilling a fighting mentality and team-first attitude.
